Hmm, after a prolong absence, something happened again today that made me feel like jotting it down as food for thought.
Went swimming with desmond and koksing at je today, quite normal a swimming day like previous ones, and we proceeded to the lanshop at boonlay hoping to catch a game of dota, or the much-hyped-about Warhammer by desmond. I left my bag under the plastic stool I was sitting on, and in it was my wallet and Zen Vision:m. I am usually particularly careful with my things, but I suppose when I'm playing, there's really a lapse of concentration in me. So much so that there were actually 2 primary school kids standing behind me, unzipping my bag, removing my wallet and zen vision:m and zipping my bag back. I only discovered it a good hour later, and my blood literally froze at the thought of falling victim to 2 primary school thieves. I was really oblivious to my surroundings during the whole hour, and it was only when after I discovered my things missing, that kok commented 2 kids were standing behind us, watching us play that rather underrated Warhammer that he made him feel uneasy. Oh well, at that time, it dawned on me that things happen in a series of coincidental events, resulting in a overall consequence which could really be so impactful.
Its a first time I fell victim to such a seemingly small case of theft (and hopefully the last), and while I still think its not really that big a matter, I'm just sad that kids nowadays are so bold. Sigh, I think I'll need to stop gaming for a good while before such similar incidents occur again. It was a good wake-up call too, I really think I might have been too engrossed in my own games over other more important stuff.
On a lighter note, its glad to know that you have friends who are there for you when you are down. For that, thanks to kok and des, who actually tried to help me find the kids to see if they could be fondling with my zen vision:m at the nearby mcdonalds, and actually accompanied me while I got a good raining of verbal assault from the mother.
Now I finally felt the sting that people feel when they lose something, just like a colleague of mine who lost his 1 month old laptop and psp just this month. Its utmostly terrible.
