fishy goodness

It is a pleasant thing to be able to book out on a weekday, go home, and find something that greets you when you reach home. Having your dog wag its tail at you while excitedly hoping around and biting at your sock is one thing, the real deal here is something that beats the horrible cookhouse food by a hundred times.

Lovely fish head bee hoon, another quality product from Yati. Despite having had the very decent chicken rice at Clementi Hawker Centre before reaching home, this is simply something you can't pass on.

I don't understand why hawkers outside love putting condensed milk into their soup, to me, pure is good. Essence from ribs, ikan bilis and yellow beans ought to bring out the best of a soup base, not to mention that extra bit of flavour coming from the fish, the ginger slices and a generous splash of rice wine. Which is why I never really like fish head bee hoon you find in stalls.

The highlight of the day, choice cuts of the red gouper. Fried beforehand which brings out the fragance in this fresh thing. The meat.... AH just shiok! Hahaha. There's this stall in Bukit Timah Hawker Centre, where the same fish is used in sliced fish soup, and it is heavenly as well.

Its very nice to be eating at home, and plonking right into bed after this to sleep for some 8 hours, which is something I hardly do recently.
