HONG KONG Part 2!

School's very much tiring, I wonder the amount of stress and fatigue full-time teachers go through, and how some teachers can really stick by it for 20 or 30 years. Those are really the very good ones. Today I really dished out an actual punishment of making a student copy pages of the textbook, but I think I was not so cold-hearted to make it stay in school and copy. I hope there won't be a need to resort to this too often.

Anyway, back to finishing our pleasant Hong Kong trip... so on the sixth night, after our wonderful seafood dinner, it was a tour up Hong Kong's much-acclaimed Victoria Peak, where the scenery from the top, overseeing the almost the whole of HongKong, is said to be the most beautiful one. Unfortunately, it was foggy that night, and we couldn't see a thing! Still there was some time for some photo taking, together with King's aunty and cousins, who reside in Singapore but were also in HK for holiday.

The tram ride from Central District to the peak tram station.

The tram station. That's Kinghei's cousin, very adorable.

Acting cool. Lol.

The tram ride, which actually travels about 45 degrees to the ground up the peak. Alittle scary at some time! Haha.

In front of some restaurant when we were at the peak.

The disappointment when there was nothing to be seen.

Still, the company was great, and perhaps when we go there the next time, weather would be better and we can catch a glimpse of how beautiful it can get up there. By the way its very cooling, and houses up the peak shouldn't need air-conditioning of any sort. Possibly best reason why they are more expensive too! Haha.

On thursday morning, which happens to be our last night of the trip, we woke up pretty late (much like other days as well), didn't get to eat tim sum, but went for some brunch at another eatery.

Dry beef Hor Fun! This one is fantastic! The serving is so big, the amount of succulent beef they have in this plate is huge! A piece of it in every spoonful. Quite cheap also! One thing I enjoy about eating in HK, is that not only cooks take pride into their cooking, but customers also spend some quality time slowly enjoying their food. Since it was lunch time, we saw many workers or employees in the shop, and everyone just took some time off their busy schedules and truly enjoyed their meal. In SG, lunch always seem like a hurried affair, quickly order your food, wolf it down in record time, then scramble off to return to work. Sad.

After which, we revisited Central District, and went to Sogo to get the wife cakes. Then it was back to hostel where we chilled out and played the Wii for a while, and in the late afternoon went to the shopping mall close to King's place for bowling and dinner. It was a meal of Cafe de Coral again, Jiale and I ate chicken curry, together with the very nice Cream Soda!

Heavenly combo, my favourite food and drink coming together. The curry was ok, not very spicy, chicken was abit overcooked, but otherwise tasty.

Yiyang had this tomato baked with chicken rice which looked good!

King had a similar one, but was something that wasn't tomato.

Forgot what it was.

Ahhh can Cafe de Coral open outlets in Singapore!? I'll support it everyday!!

After dinner it was a movie, 300. Quite a nice show. Blood and gore glorified!

Well of course after the movie, we bid King farewell for a very good and fulfilling HK trip. He's a very good host! Although he was quite busy with school and stuff, still took out time to bring us around, and not to mention the considerable amount of money he spent when we were there. Come June when you return, we'll treat you! Haha.

Since we had some time left, its one last trip to Mongkok, where the two of them bought some souvenirs, and I had more of the very nice 猪肠.

The last morning, 16th, we went due to fly back to Singapore. Of course, there was a need to yumcha again! Woke up pretty early, and again it was to a restaurant within walking distance of our hostel.

Seriously, its like there-are-no-lousy eateries/restaurants in HK. Nothing we ate in these shops disappoint, and as a fussy eater, you have to believe my words!!

Our two friends here looking sad, for its the 'last breakfast'.

For starters, fried dumplings and spring rolls. Quite the norm and not very special. Nonetheless, the spring rolls have got meat and mushroom inside. Fragrantly delicious!

Next item was this bird nest-like prawn dumpling, don't know its name, I just know its good.

Look! Fresh whole prawn used to make the flesh of this dumpling, and what's inside? Crab roe soup!! Max!

Next was egg tarts. I never like egg tarts, and never ate them, but this one, the egg in the tart tasted like toufu! Not to mention the pastry melted in your mouth like m&m's! The icing on the tart was this bird's nest!!! Woots.

Of course, how can we forget the prawn dumplings and the 小笼包s??? The prawn dumplings are authentically prawn-only, no meat! Shiok.

See? Nothing but prawn.

The juicy, soupy 小笼包, one of my favourite timsums!

Oh and one last one, the Siew Mai!! Omg. Nothing like what I have tasted in SG so far.

The siew mais come with prawn, mushroom, very little meat and crab roe! And the price of it is the same as what we pay for in SG, look at how we've been cheated!

All in all, each person only paid about S$8, and look at the quality of what we ate! Its a restaurant somemore, and its so cheap! I will not eat timsum in SG again, unless its someone's treat. =/

After breakfast, it was check-out time, and before we knew it, it was time to make our way to the airport. Our 'last wishes' of eating Cafe de Coral's pork cutlet rice or eating XLS's mango deserts vanished when the Cafe de coral at the airport had no pork cutlet on their menu, and XLS was nowhere to be seen. T_T We settled for the next best thing which was Popeye's Chicken, and in a couple of hours time we were back to the not-so-fun place, or rather where I am now typing out all these stuff.

I want to go back!!!! Ok, maybe in December. Till then, I shall avoid chicken/duck/roast meat rice as much as possible, not to eat not-up-to-standard timsums, try to come out with a more fragrant curry, and of course wait for King to return to SG with Schwepps!!! Pppprecccciouuussss.
