Fun

The HSS camp was good! =) Apart from the sucky lunch and dinner served in school on the first 2 days, and the fact that you couldn't sleep anything more than 4 hours a day throughout the 4 nights, everything was pretty fantastic. The GLs were friendly, the OG was like damn on, always winning our way through challenges, we hardly lost, real good teamwork. Peeps in the group were cool as well, though somehow its harder to find like-minded people in a group of 23. As much as I wish to think likewise, its difficult to see us hanging out very often in the future together. =/

Hahaha, on another fantastic note, I'm in Hall 13, together with Jiale and Yiyang! How shiok is that man!?! Like out of 16 halls we still manage to get into the same one. Some of the other friends are also in halls nearby, which means we can go out for supper or meet up in school super easily.

Things to look forward to (or maybe not) next week..

Science Centre invited me to the Sony Creative Toy Award presentation ceremony.. haha it really seemed like yesterday when I was featured on the news with my toy, and 10 years on, I actually get to see how the kids come out with cool toys to reflect what they actually play nowadays. Haha I hope its not some computer software (I doubt they are so pro to be able to do so, heh)

My time at BPGHS as a relief is ending! Good and bad, surely I'll miss the enjoyable times there with the juniors and those great teachers who I worked with, and it'll be sad to leave. Then again, new challenges await in University! It really seems like a great place to be, and I'll hopefully enjoy my time there. Still thinking of whether to go for the hall camp or not.. hmmm.

In another breakthrough in cooking, a trip to the market with mummy dearest proved fruitful! For the first time I managed to see how those ribs they serve in Kenny Rogers (or those cafes that sell ribs roasted with different methods), and its actually called baby back ribs, or according my dad its nicknamed bullet ribs for its resemblance to bullet cartridges used in guns. Haha. However, its one of the most expensive parts of the pork as well, fetching around $18 per kg. Anyway I still insisted that we would buy one piece of the ribs so I could go home and try out how braised ribs would taste.

Yes that small piece, with 6 pieces of rib bones connected to one another, cost $11.

Caramelizing the sauce to coat the ribs.

Almost done..

Tada, a pleasantly appealing dish of braised ribs!

Although a tad salty, the meat was perfectly cooked, and what I love about ribs is its tender, juicy meat with almost no fats at all! Girls or folks looking for a healthier alternative should try eating this! The downside is its rather hefty pricetag.

Hopefully the mother could buy the ribs a couple more times, and I'll do a honey roasted ribs, or spiced blend ribs using the turn-spin oven! Oh crabs are starting to roll out too! Indulgence!
