Poisons.....

I made a very important discovery today. Online forums are poisons!!! Why so? Since I was pretty free yesterday, I was looking through forum pages, trying to follow up on some of the cool gadgets and stuff which I haven't been too bothered with for the past months. It also happened that I was looking for a replacement for my Creative EP630 earphone (which was chewed by a despicable rat back in my bunk last year). And so by chance (or rather my itchy fingers), I came to know of Creative's latest mp3 offering, the Zen Stone Plus.

Well I heard of the Creative Zen Stone just months back, which was Creative's answer to Apple's Ipod Shuffle. Well the battle never ends, and in a seemingly desperate attempt to break Apple's stronghold on various categories of mp3 players, they have now come out with a upgraded Zen Stone Plus (henceworth called ZSP). Capable of storing 2gb worth of data, of course main draw being songs, its a simple plug and play thumbdrive that weighs 21g, and comes with other nifty functions like a stopwatch, a clock, a recorder as well as fm radio. A swiss-army knife of a DAP (Digital Audio Player) for only S$99! Don't know what Creative was thinking when it launched a super inferior 1gb Zen Stone for $69 less than 5 months back. (Those with Zen Stones and want to throw them away please don't, give them to me. wahahahaha)

Anyway, I figured it was a real good deal, and while the realistic half in me told me to hold back a while more, the impulse side of me was to get the better and I found myself at the Creative HQ today evening. Got another EP630 somemore! Damage = 134. X_X

Yes red is nice.

Hmm, Creative has been producing its products at our neighbours backyard, but seriously quality is quite good, I can vouch for that with my Zen Vision:W.

A comparison to show how small the ZSP is. Its really small! I'm so used to having my ZV:W around, now will need to adjust to using something much lighter. Hopefully I don't conveniently put it in my trouser's back pocket, if not I can't expect how many bits it will come out in. However, that does not mean my ZV:W will just retire or sit on the shelf to dust-bask. This ZSP for all it can do is only play songs, I can watch my pokemon season 3,4,5 on its video counterpart. Heh.

Yes the legendary in-ear earphone which was also my first. Back then, it appeared so solid man, great isolation, great bass. When the freaking rat chewed it in half, I was so scared I couldn't find a replacement since it was selling so well (though I never did eagerly want to get it replaced). Since I bought the player, might as well get it as well, at a cheaper price. Its a really cheap and good pair of in-ear earphones for any kind of use.

Now comes the bigger poison. Just when I thought I would be contented with a new DAP and be reunited with my old in-ears, along came a third-party! The itchy fingers had to wander around, onto a thread that read "Crossroads Mylarone X3". Finding something so intriguing like my-lar-one, I decided to take a look at what this product actually was. Turns out its another in-ears which has received raving reviews by the many audiophiles in SG. Comparable to some of the mid range IEM (in-ear monitors, a nicer description of in-ear earphones) which can cost S$200 onwards, but sold at only a fraction of the price. Futhermore the only shop to carry this brand is well known for its fantastic customer service, I decided to go down and take a look myself. True enough, did a auditioning myself with the two models for sale, Mylarone X3 and Mylarone XB. Wah wah wah, super impressed! Classical pieces never sounded this good. Detailed, bright, with alot of bass! It really felt no different from a concert! Hence, once again, the mind, together with the wallet, fell over to the dark side. I walked out the shop $75 poorer, but a great lot happier! Seriously its good stuff lah!

Though it might not look very nice, it sounds heavenly! Like what they say in Mandarin, 听出耳油, I'll be very interested to see how 'ear oil' will look like. LOL.

On another hand, while the ears and the mind are on cloud 9, the bank account lies on the opposite end. Ok I must not spend again until end of the month. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be spent listening to music. I hope it will be enough. Hahahahahaha.
