the need to speak my mind

Of the recess weeks I've had so far, this has got to be the busiest recess week ever. I didn't even know how or what's been done in these 7 days. But one thing for sure I haven't studied a single thing except to do my fyp which shall be due next week. So many things have happened over the last 2 weeks that I haven't really had time to talk about it at all!

For one, there's the HSS week which translates to the biggest week that my committee had to see through. It was another good experience for myself and despite the fact that much sleep was lost, there's been this sense of satisfaction for having gone through everything together with the rest of the team. Thanks for the cake and I really appreciated it.

Secondly, being able to help out as a student ambassador during one of the open house was another great experience. The allowance and awesome lunch aside, I feel that its a pleasure to be able to interact with parents, students or anyone that is actually interested about NTU HSS. Its just being paid to tell people what I do in the school and seriously its so easy to be carried away sharing all the fantastic things that have happened in these past 5 semesters.

This extremely concerned dad spending some 20 minutes finding out for his daughter what HSS Economics is about.

Thirdly there's the fyp that's been occupying the top of my 'to-do' list since last month, and its coming to an end really soon. Survive 5 more days and I have a fyp-less year 4 to look forward to.

A picture of us unwinding over Bang! after fyp meeting. I swear by the game's ability to make me feel extremely happy, evil and scheming. hurhurhur.

Other noteworthy things that happened this week are somehow all related to having fun and enjoying myself, and all of them involve makan or drinking. In chronological order...

tuesday: dinner with geraldine at Astons' followed by ice cream chefs. The ribeye extra cut is still of good standard and honeydew ice cream at icecreamchefs is good stuff! free mix-ins for the win too.

thursday: ktv with swcc was good. singing is good relaxation.

friday: finally met up with szekiat and alvin after who-knows-how-many-'next time meet up' for lunch. Kiliney road is home to some nice local cuisine and the chicken rice we walked past while trying to see what food was nice just sucked us into the shop. I don't remember smelling more fragant rice than that in a long time. Spent my $20 Taka voucher on some Magum ice-cream and one whole roasted black pepper chicken to myself. Imagine window-shopping in Lido, Cineleisure and Ion Orchard with a roast chicken in hand. Its so fun and shiok you just have to try it. Fuck unglamness. NTU AAO had this silly 'Bringing children up: today's challenges' talk where they wanted our attendance when it was actually unnecessary. The catering food was sucky, we sneaked off earlier and I had my first dinner at 3 Monkeys in holland v. Expensive and pretty forgettable food aside, I loved the banana-mango iceblend and I will get down to trying it at home.

saturday: bbq and main comm meeting at my place. just about enough food for everyone i hoped. didn't really enjoy the cooking or the preparing, no thanks to the headache from the terrible weather. but yea the company was great and we've got some really good ideas coming forth in the weeks for the hss population. hope all will be good.

Yes, it seems like the recess week was gone just like that. its sunday already and i shall get my much needed sleep without the phone beside my bed (i swear that putting the phone beside my bed to answer calls or text has become a habit since 2 weeks ago, and it has NOT HELPED ABIT in getting quality sleep) before spending the whole day on fyp again. of course, i will not forget to play while working, and yes after prolonged negligence of my nds, i'm playing it again!!!

Ace Attorney Miles Edgeworth! One of the series on NDS which I swear by.

And it does not help that Pokemon HeartGold, SoulSilver are coming out next week! Another must-play which I know I cannot afford until after exams. STILLLLLLL.

Lastly, I think the happiest news this week has to be this.

The latest addition to my Lego town, not only is it coming cheaper, its also coming much earlier than what Lego fans in Singapore would have to wait (that is June-July). This is much thanks to Mr Jim Yim who will be flying back from New York with this huge ass of a parcel. I look forward very much to his return (and this Lego of course).

With that said, I wonder when will my next update be, considering there really is a gazillion things to do and I hope to get past this semester unscathed. I am sure I will do it, and till next time! (I think its hugely likely I will waste some time building my Lego and writing a nice review on it. its the least it deserves.) Watch this space!
