I'm gonna pack my bags and leave this town

All too familiar a sight. Come to think of it, I was taking a picture of my luggage some 18 months ago. Fast forward to tomorrow, it'll be scenes of leaving the house, checking in at the airport, bidding family and friends farewell, and off away in a foreign land for another 6 months. Déjà vu.

This trip isn't getting off to a good start, no thanks to an absolutely untimely breakdown of my laptop. That means I won't be getting any online access anytime soon, and the worse case scenario could be buying a laptop there, which translates to extra spending. My housekeeping skills will once again be put to the test as I will not have the world's best maids at my service in my apartment in Shanghai. Hopefully I will remember how to hold a broom, mop my floor and wash my clothes.

The past two weeks of meet-ups and dinners with friends who have taken their time to do some catching up has been most enjoyable. To friends who I have not managed to meet up, I guess we'll just have to leave till when I get back! It's actually quite difficult leaving behind all the awesome friends and missing out on all the fun back home, instead opting for the unknown, working in a totally different environment. Such is life, when you get the chance to go somewhere you always wanted you couldn't wait to set off right away; when it comes to the actual take-off, you suddenly find leaving difficult, unbearable. But I know what I want, and this internship is something I've wanted and I shall make the best out of it. 22 weeks is going to be over before I know it. (and I know this better than anyone else)

Unlike the last time round where I penned a separate blog altogether for my very own European adventure, updates to life in China will probably take place on a weekly basis in this space. Hopefully I'll get time, and more importantly a personal computer to do such stuff soon.

17 hours to take off. A new chapter in my life is about to be written. Hurraf.
