Haven’t updated in a while. Since CNY last week, everyday has been filled with activities, work and commitments of all sorts. Finally its on this happy once-in-a-year occasion I find some time to update this writing space of mine.
So many things, and glad to say none bad has happened. For a start, I enjoyed CNY very much. Cooked a great deal of food, including first time attempts on lobsters courtesy of my uncle, and many dishes which I have managed to improvise on. Will post the pictures of them when I have the time. As the years past, angbaos have gradually lost their appeal on me, since I’ve started to earn my own allowance, although the extra money is still welcomed as always.
Things in school have occupied a lot of time for the past week as well, glad everything has went quite smoothly, known quite a lot more people along the way. Gained a good deal of experience of solving some problems where knowing the right contacts really helps you get out of the worst situations. Much thanks to the friends who offered the priceless helping hands when I needed them.
Today was the end of a busy busy week, despite only sleeping three hours last night and having to sit through a rather awful stats quiz, my first session at Fast Forward Club this semester more than made up for the day. Its really a wonderful thing to be enjoying some really good board games with a bunch of likeminded seniors who really want to promote the club. I’m proud to say that I’ve joined the club and now running a post of club services manager. It has really been quite a while since I really had that much of a passion and satisfaction doing something so interesting in school. With the great groundwork done by the seniors, the club can only get better subsequently! Hopefully in time to come more people will discover the fun of new-age innovative board and table-top games! I enjoyed my time as recreational director at HSS club as well, but if given a choice to make should I run for any posts in the next year (and considering the heavier workload), Fast Forward club would be the priority. I’ll make it a point to attend all subsequent gaming sessions this semester, since most of the committee members are already in their final semester, their humour, knowledge and passion has definitely made me feel even more committed to promote the club’s presence in school!
Of course, I turn 22 years old on this special day 22nd February, which I always thought is super cool day to celebrate one’s birthday on. Looking back, the past year has really been quite a good one, and I can only hope that it will get better. Even though I do not have the 10 million dollars angbao draw from Singaporepools as a birthday present, I will just wish for good results, good health, wealth for myself and the ones around me. I will try to be less lazy, more thrifty, more obedient, even friendlier, basically improve on all aspects of myself. Its not very hard and I can do it!
Hmmm, had so many things I wanted to jot down, but somehow when I get down to writing, the thoughts just drain up a great deal. Will update again soon, got next week to catch a breather before the busy second half of the second semester kicks in. Good night for now.
