Well, extremely happy to be back in school despite the fact that it will be a short stint. Its really quite amazing how the boys grow, especially those wearing long pants now, some really grew 10+cm easily. However, sad to say, maturity has remained at where I last saw them last year - CHILDISH. Hahaha, I shall not make such a sweeping statement, but yeah some are definitely more matured and its a joy to speak to them more as friends than teacher-student. Workload wise, definitely way less stuff and classes to teach compared to last year, which is a great thing. Frankly speaking, 10 weeks is too short a time to decide if teaching is what I'll choose to do in the future.
This week's tasks included standing-in for Mr Hisham's sec 4 classes while he was away. The classes had MCQ papers to do (how I used to hate them, I understand how it feels), well I wouldn't blame them for taking 1 hour to do 20 questions instead of the 40 they have. Its a dread to come back while your juniors are dota-ing, playing basketball in the courts while your energy is sapped over a piece of paper with A,B,C,Ds all over. The maths mock papers after that are worse! Amaths appears so much easier in the past than it is now! Had a look at the paper and I realise I can't do half the questions. To think Amaths was my best subject back then, omg now its like A+C maths.
Other than supervising these classes where they do and do and do papers, its also quite enjoyable to be doing economics with the sec 4s. Economics at O levels really seem easier, (ok everything seems easier at this level) hopefully this pioneer batch of BP students taking it will do well.
Waking up at 6am sucks very bad, I am not in the best of moods when I do not get my 10-hour-sleeps. While everyone else will not go to school next week, I can only hope that I will not be activated to go help out in stuff back in school. Better still, give me another 2 weeks to rest and play more, or go for another short trip!!
