Visited Jurong library this afternoon (I have not stepped into that library since JC2) in search of some old newspaper clippings that are stored in microfilms. It was a suggestion my prof brought up when we were talking about research. Having not seen or learnt how to operate those microfilm readers before, I approached the customer service counter, where a librarian took some 10 minutes teaching me where to find the microfilms and how to operate the machine. I guess people rarely use that machine, which kinda explained why she kinda forgot how to use it as well!
But I guess what really made me feel good was her excellent service attitude and patience in assisting me when I was feeling lost. There must have been times when you wished you needed help, and you'll feel more grateful than ever when your distress calls are answered.
Oh yeah on another note, it is very amusing and entertaining to read old newspaper, like those 10 years or older. Stuff for laughs include 'Breakthrough Pentium 3 technology', and 'Nokia 6110 for an introductory price of $598!!!'. Hahaha
