When you wake up to go to work and the only other thing you look forward to is 530, it says pretty much about the nature of the job, for it is absolutely something with nothing that offers you any form of return other than a monetary one. Then it must hold true that I enjoyed my previous teaching job so much that it didn't really feel like a dread to wake up at 6am and come home at 3-4pm when I could actually be home by 2.
Working at the library has made me think hard about the importance of having a job I really enjoy, afterall I've got the next 30 years to slog my life away and achieve something before I call it a day , literally. And I'm already starting to feel the boredom of working life, coming home at 6, having dinner, surfing the net for a while, going to bed at as early as 8pm and then waking up at 5am. The day really gets split up nicely between work and sleep.
Well, I'll be ending this stint in 4 weeks while I prepare myself for a new one in China. I'm hoping it will be much more exciting than what I'm doing right now, and to be able to get out of all the paper-chase thingy for a semester sounds like a good deal. Meanwhile its off to work, but not before some bakchormee. The kind of motivation I need to start my day.
