Yes after an extended period of absence I'm back! Come to think about it, its really amazing how I've been to the Gobi desert, the Mongolian grasslands, come face to face with Everest, and seen two of the world's highest lakes in a span of 3 weeks!
Just came back from a Nanjing trip organised by my exchange university and it was really a lesson in history. More notably on the Nanjing massacre. It's really something that should have never happened and must never happen again.
On an interesting but somehow also depressing note, the writer of the best seller 'Rape of Nanjing', Iris Chang committed suicide since she gained success from the book. She was a perfectionist and often went on days without sleep just to make perfect the details in her book. Upon a more in depth read up, and I've started to realise some uncanny similarities of the fate of some of the best writers/painters/entertainers.
In one website I read,
Oh well, I don't know when I'm going to talk about my Mongolian trip (let alone my Tibet trip!) as well as the many small things such as the Expo, and my planned trips to Beijing and even TOKYO! but just to let all you friends who are concerned about how your friend is doing here, all's great and i'm looking very much to going home! I will try my best to update more but I've got my FYP written report due in 2 weeks so I might not be posting so much. Still, catch me on msn and maybe skype and I hope I will be posting very soon! take care meanwhile!

In one website I read,
A lack of sleep is one of the hallmark symptoms of mania," Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, author of "Night Falls Fast: Understanding Suicide," told The Chronicle. "Typically, people start losing sleep, then stay up later and later each night. It has a terrible reverberating effect. The lack of sleep can exacerbate the illness and vice versa."
Indeed, its horrific to know how deadly mental illnesses can be, and for such a brillant writer to succumb to something that develops from within shows the power of the mind and will. Thus, I conclude that we really need to sleep alot and keep a healthy mind. Do not drive yourself crazy or deprive yourself of sleep. You might be curious as to why I suddenly bring this up. My friends have been saying I sleep too much, and now if you look at it, I really see no harm in sleeping more than I need to. Perhaps that is what's been helping me keep a clear mind all this while! Hahaha.Oh well, I don't know when I'm going to talk about my Mongolian trip (let alone my Tibet trip!) as well as the many small things such as the Expo, and my planned trips to Beijing and even TOKYO! but just to let all you friends who are concerned about how your friend is doing here, all's great and i'm looking very much to going home!
